On Saturday, 17 December 2016, in the afternoon at 15:49, in Kauno district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 91), a Volkswagen Passat hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 71-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (44 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 100 km/h.
