On Monday, 18 December 2017, in the evening at 17:45, in Kauno district municipality, on the Kaunas–Zarasai–Daugpilis (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta k. pusė) main road (kilometre 6.45), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Fiat Bravo and a MAN. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 54-year-old driver of the Fiat, who committed other traffic rule violations. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, there was fog, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
