On Monday, 15 January 2018, in the afternoon at 14:20, in Kauno district municipality, on the Kaunas–Zarasai–Daugpilis (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta d. pusė) main road (kilometre 6.60), a BMW X3 hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 37-year-old driver of the BMW (14 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.30‰ blood alcohol). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
