On Thursday, 22 February 2018, in the afternoon at around 12:00, in Tauragės district municipality, on the Ryga–Šiauliai–Tauragė–Kaliningradas main road (kilometre 159), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Scania R 114 LA, a Legras and a Ford Mondeo. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 57-year-old driver of the Scania (33 years of driving experience), who violated overtaking rules. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
