On Sunday, 13 May 2018, in the afternoon at 16:30, in Šilalės district municipality, Stungaičių village, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 235.23), an Opel Vectra Station Wagon ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 65-year-old driver of the Opel (34 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
