On Friday, 25 January 2019, in the evening at 18:40, in Panevėžio district municipality, on the Vilnius–Panevėžys (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 107.80), a Volkswagen Touran registered in Latvia ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 31-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (11 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
