On Friday, 1 February 2019, in the evening at 18:30, in Kauno district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 105), a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Ford TRANSIT/TOURNEO, a BMW and a BMW 530. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 34-year-old driver of the Ford (1 year of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. All drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 110 km/h.
