On Saturday, 11 May 2019, in the evening at 21:10, in Kauno district municipality, Giraitės village, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 104), a Volvo FH12 registered in Latvia hit an animal. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 63-year-old driver of the Volvo (36 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober.
