On Thursday, 13 June 2019, at night at 0:54, in Trakų district municipality, Rykantų village, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 24.84), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a BMW 530, a Hyundai Getz and a Ford Mondeo. Two people were injured — a 17-year-old passenger of the Hyundai (treated as an outpatient) and a 14-year-old passenger of the Hyundai (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 20-year-old driver of the BMW (1 year of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. All drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 100 km/h.
