On Friday, 12 July 2019, in the afternoon at around 12:00, in Kauno district municipality, Paltiškių village, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 110), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved an Audi A4 and a Skoda Octavia. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 28-year-old driver of the Audi, who failed to keep a safe distance. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 110 km/h.
