On Monday, 30 September 2019, in the afternoon at around 15:00, in Kauno city municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 101), a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved a Toyota Prius and a MAN 35.364. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 47-year-old driver of the Toyota (25 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
