On Tuesday, 30 September 2014, in the afternoon at around 12:00, in Kauno city municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 101), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and a Nissan Qashqai. One person was injured — the 50-year-old driver of the Nissan (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 46-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz (25 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. Both drivers were sober.
