On Tuesday, 20 October 2020, in the afternoon at 14:11, in Šilutės district municipality, Macikų village, on the Kaunas–Jurbarkas–Šilutė–Klaipėda national road, a Mercedes-Benz hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 49-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz, who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
