On Monday, 4 January 2021, in the evening at 17:10, in Klaipėdos district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 269.50), a Scania hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 61-year-old driver of the Scania (17 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was snowing, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 110 km/h.
