On Tuesday, 12 January 2021, in the afternoon at around 16:00, in Šilalės district municipality, Bijotų village, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 210.60), a Volvo FH registered in Belarus ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 57-year-old driver of the Volvo (30 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was snowing, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 110 km/h.
