On Sunday, 7 March 2021, in the evening at around 20:00, in Kauno district municipality, on the Kaunas–Marijampolė–Suvalkai (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta d. pusė) main road (kilometre 10.60), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Passat, a Chrysler 300C, an Opel Astra Sports Tourer and a Toyota Corolla Verso. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 32-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (14 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. All drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was icy. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
