On Monday, 15 March 2021, in the evening at around 22:00, in Prienų district municipality, on the Kaunas–Marijampolė–Suvalkai main road (kilometre 31.50), a Volvo FH1362R registered in Bulgaria hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 62-year-old driver of the Volvo (38 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 80 km/h.
