On Friday, 28 May 2021, in the afternoon at 16:42, in Kauno city municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 96.60), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a MAN TGL 8.180, a Wiola - and a Volkswagen Tiguan. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 52-year-old driver of the MAN (20 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 80 km/h.
