On Tuesday, 12 October 2021, in the afternoon at 15:20, in Šilalės district municipality, on J. Basanavičiaus street near No. 19, at the junction with Nepriklausomybės street, a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved a moped and an Opel Astra. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 78-year-old driver of a moped, who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. He had no driving licence and fled the scene.
