On Thursday, 25 November 2021, in the morning at around 9:00, in Kauno district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 105), a collision with barriers occurred. The collision involved a Scania R 420LA registered in Latvia and a Kaessbohrer registered in Latvia. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 59-year-old driver of the Scania (41 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
