On Wednesday, 8 December 2021, in the morning at 10:12, in Klaipėdos district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 269.65), an Opel Zafira - A hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 45-year-old driver of the Opel (21 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.05‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was icy. The speed limit on this section is 110 km/h.
