On Saturday, 18 June 2022, in the evening at 19:30, in Kauno district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 120), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved an Audi A6 and a Hyundai. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 20-year-old driver of the Audi, who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (1.32‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
