On Friday, 31 March 2023, in the evening at 21:22, in Kauno district municipality, Giraitės village, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 104), a vehicle hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by an unidentified person, who committed other traffic rule violations. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, it was overcast, the road surface was wet.
