On Tuesday, 24 October 2023, in the afternoon at around 13:00, in Klaipėdos district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 278.88), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Dacia and an Audi A8 registered in Latvia. One person was injured — the 48-year-old driver of the Audi (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 58-year-old driver of the Dacia (20 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
