On Tuesday, 5 March 2024, in the afternoon at 16:50, in Kaunas, on Studentų street, at the junction with A. Baranausko street, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Touran and a Toyota Corolla. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 60-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (20 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
