On Saturday, 15 June 2024, in the evening at 18:26, in Klaipėdos district municipality, Šilėnų village, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 274.20), a DAF ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 36-year-old driver of the DAF (5 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
