The only charts that include all accidents; every other group counts injury crashes (įskaitiniai) only.
Police also record crashes in which nobody was hurt — only vehicles or property were damaged. There are several times more of them than injury crashes: in 2023, people were hurt in only 12% of the 24,204 crashes recorded.
In 2025, 13,393 non-injury crashes were recorded — 37% fewer than in 2023, while injury crashes barely changed. A drop that sudden most likely reflects a change in how they are recorded rather than safer roads, so the latest non-injury trend should be read with care.
Shaded bands mark the COVID-19 lockdowns — one combined 2020–2021 span on yearly charts, and the two separate periods, when travel between municipalities was restricted, on monthly charts.
