On Friday, 19 June 2015, in the morning at around 5:00, in Šiaulių district municipality, on the Ryga–Šiauliai–Tauragė–Kaliningradas main road (kilometre 63.30), a Volkswagen Golf hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 33-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (7 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. She was drunk (1.58‰ blood alcohol). At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
