On Friday, 24 September 2021, in the evening at 19:04, in Šiaulių district municipality, Aukštelkės village, on the Ryga–Šiauliai–Tauragė–Kaliningradas (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta d. pusė) main road (kilometre 62.50), a Lexus RX 300 rolled over. Two people were injured — the 25-year-old driver of the Lexus (treated as an outpatient) and a 6-year-old passenger of the Lexus (treated as an outpatient, was not in a child seat). The accident was caused by the 25-year-old driver of the Lexus (4 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.32‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was twilight, there was freezing rain, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
