On Tuesday, 26 January 2016, in the evening at 18:40, in Kauno district municipality, on the Kaunas–Zarasai–Daugpilis main road (kilometre 6), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved an Opel Antara and an Audi A3. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 41-year-old driver of the Opel (18 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, there was freezing rain, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
