On Friday, 5 February 2016, in the morning at around 8:00, in Kauno district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 113.75), an Opel Astra ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 35-year-old driver of the Opel (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was icy. The speed limit on this section is 110 km/h.
