On Thursday, 29 June 2017, in the afternoon at 15:15, in Kauno district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 113.70), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Renault Premium 450.19, a Krone SDP27, a Wielton NW33S registered in Latvia and a MAN TGX registered in Latvia. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 41-year-old driver of the Renault (15 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
