On Thursday, 3 March 2016, in the morning at 8:35, in Klaipėdos district municipality, on the Kaunas–Jurbarkas–Šilutė–Klaipėda (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta d. pusė) national road (kilometre 222.95), a collision with both vehicles turning right occurred. The collision involved an Opel Astra, a Solo MS225-2SPORT,SOLO MS and a Volvo FH 64R. One person died — the 24-year-old driver of the Opel. The accident was caused by the 24-year-old driver of the Opel (less than a year of driving experience), who exceeded the speed set by traffic rules or road signs and failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence. All drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
