On Friday, 3 February 2017, in the evening at 18:10, in Raseinių district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 174.50), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a BMW 1er Reihe registered in Germany and a Volkswagen Polo. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 41-year-old driver of the BMW (21 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 110 km/h.
