On Monday, 18 September 2017, at night at around 1:00, in Raseinių district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 172.89), a Nissan Qashqai hit an animal. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 43-year-old driver of the Nissan (17 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
