On Sunday, 10 June 2018, in the afternoon at 14:38, in Šilalės district municipality, Vedrių village, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 224.41), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a BMW 330D, a Schmitz Cargobull and a Scania. Two people were injured — a 23-year-old passenger of the BMW (treated as an outpatient) and a 19-year-old passenger of the BMW (severely injured, hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 21-year-old driver of the BMW (3 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
