On Sunday, 8 July 2018, in the evening at 18:10, in Šilalės district municipality, Upynos village, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 222.70), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The accident was caused by the 25-year-old driver of the Toyota (7 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. Both drivers were sober.
