On Friday, 12 October 2018, in the afternoon at 15:35, in Elektrėnų municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 46), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a BMW, an Opel, a Toyota Avensis and an Opel. One person was injured — the 26-year-old driver of the Toyota (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 33-year-old driver of the BMW (15 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. All drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 120 km/h.
