On Tuesday, 23 October 2018, in the afternoon at 13:31, in Prienų district municipality, on the Kaunas–Marijampolė–Suvalkai main road (kilometre 27.50), a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Komatsu PW 160-7 and a Mercedes-Benz 1517. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 51-year-old driver of the Komatsu (5 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (1.24‰ blood alcohol). At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
