On Friday, 2 November 2018, in the afternoon at around 11:00, in Kauno district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 89), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a MAN TGX and a Nissan Almera. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 62-year-old driver of the MAN (36 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 100 km/h.
