On Tuesday, 12 May 2020, in the afternoon at 16:14, in Elektrėnų municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 48), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volvo S60 and a Mercedes-Benz -. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 32-year-old driver of the Volvo (3 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 120 km/h.
