On Saturday, 22 August 2020, in the evening at 21:35, in Kaunas, on Gimnazijos street near No. 2, a Mazda RX-8 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 23-year-old driver of the Mazda (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was raining, the road surface was wet.
