On Sunday, 1 November 2020, in the evening at 17:15, in Šalčininkų district municipality, on the Vilnius–Lyda main road (kilometre 34.78), a traffic accident occurred. The accident involved a DAF FT XF105.460 registered in Russia. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 31-year-old driver of the DAF (12 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk and fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
