On Saturday, 20 March 2021, in the afternoon at 14:48, in Kauno district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 89.61), an Audi A6 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 34-year-old driver of the Audi (less than a year of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. He was drunk (2.77‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
