On Wednesday, 19 January 2022, in the evening at 17:10, in Kauno district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 91.70), a Scania R420 registered in Belarus hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 49-year-old driver of the Scania (26 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
