On Friday, 18 November 2022, in the evening at 17:15, in Prienų district municipality, on the Kaunas–Marijampolė–Suvalkai main road (kilometre 31.80), a BMW M3 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 36-year-old driver of the BMW (14 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was snowing, the road surface was icy. The speed limit on this section is 110 km/h.
