On Monday, 6 May 2024, in the evening at 21:40, in Šilalės district municipality, Bardžių village, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 208.50), a Maserati hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by a 20-year-old car driver, who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
