On Thursday, 7 February 2013, in the morning at 7:30, in Tauragės district municipality, on Dariaus ir Girėno street, at the junction with Vytauto street, a vehicle hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 53-year-old pedestrian (hospitalized). The accident was caused by an unidentified person, who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. He fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
