Ford Transit FT hits pedestrians at a crossing on Tilžės street, Šiauliai
On Thursday, 14 March 2013, in the afternoon at 16:22, in Šiauliai, on Tilžės street near No. 170, a Ford Transit FT 260 hit two pedestrians at a pedestrian crossing. Two people were injured — a 59-year-old pedestrian (hospitalized) and a 50-year-old pedestrian (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 51-year-old driver of the Ford (16 years of driving experience), who failed to comply with road signs or markings and failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober. A 59-year-old pedestrian was drunk (0.91‰). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
