On Sunday, 21 July 2013, in the evening at 19:15, in Varėnos district municipality, on the Vilnius–Varėna–Gardinas main road (kilometre 40.17), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Passat, a Volkswagen Passat, an Audi A4 and a Toyota Avensis. One person was injured — the 39-year-old driver of the Audi (treated as an outpatient).
